The film (in theaters nationwide Friday) follows a closeted young (Nick Robinson) who falls in love with an anonymous online pen pal from his overflowing schoolhouse who is also gay, and navigates the tricky waters of arrival out to his friends and family. It's the first major studio show to concentration on a gay teenage romance. "I unbroken asking the work that myself, actually," director Greg Berlanti says. "My sense is that they reordering less and few movies these days, and they're sir thomas more dependent on pre-existing things and need more than sure bets.
