The People’s Republic of china (PRC) views the island as a province, patch in Taiwan—a territory with its own democratically electoral government—leading political voices hold differing views on the island’s status and relations with the mainland. both observe the principle that there is “one China” comprising the island and the mainland, but in their sentiment this is the Republic of porcelain (ROC) supported in Taipei; others mortal for a de jure Beijing and taipeh sharp disaccord on the island’s status.
